Functional Medicine Practitoner

As the Founder and Lead Clinician at the Dublin Centre for Functional Medicine, I believe in an approach that doesn’t just look at symptoms but at what has contributed to the current imbalance in health.

My work with clients is based on the functional medicine model, with nutrition at the core of every protocol. I really believe in the power of nutrition and have seen it transform lives many times over.

With years of personal and professional experience behind me, I believe the functional medicine model is the future of healthcare for lifestyle-related disease and its associated conditions.

Like many practitioners, I came into this profession through my own experience of overcoming chronic Candida, parasitic and SIBO infections at different times. I have walked the walk, so to speak, and know exactly what it’s like to be extremely unwell and just want to get better as quickly as possible. I can empathise with clients who come to the clinic having tried multiple routes, including conventional treatment, with little success.

I am passionate about helping clients achieve optimal health and wellness by personalising every client’s approach. This could involve looking into genetics, lifestyle, toxins, infections and stress. By examining these areas, we can uncover where the imbalance lies and use the right approach to help bring the body back into balance. Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, this means looking for the root cause, so symptoms are less likely to reappear somewhere else in the body further down the line.

I am a fully qualified and certified functional medicine practitioner and nutritional therapist (CNHC registered), trained with the Institute for Functional Medicine and SIBO Doctor certified. I work with clients on a wide range of health concerns across different body systems, always alongside their medical care. Gut and digestive health is at the heart of my work, including SIBO, IBS and Candida. I believe a lot of roads lead back to the microbiome, and that having a good internal “terrain” is essential for good health. Liver and gallbladder health is a particular area of interest for me, as these organs are the gateway to the rest of the body and don’t get the attention they deserve.

I also work extensively with clients affected by mould and environmental toxins, an area that is often missed but can have a huge impact on energy, the gut, the immune system and the brain. Alongside this, I support many clients living with autoimmune conditions and chronic fatigue, where looking at the full picture, from gut health and hidden infections to toxin exposure, nutrient status and stress, can make a real difference. These are often the clients who have been everywhere and are still searching for answers, and they are the people I most want to help.

I believe a well-balanced life is essential, and I’m passionate about squash, cooking and football. I have won Irish and British National Squash titles, and I compete in European Squash Championships in my age group.

NUTRITIONAL tHERAPIST

I am a qualified Functional Medicine Practitioner, Nutritional Therapist and Naturopath specialising in women’s health.

Drawing from my personal journey of overcoming hormonal imbalances, I possess a deep understanding of the challenges and complexities that women face when it comes to hormonal health, making my approach relatable and empathetic.

My approach is rooted in the principles of Functional Medicine and scientifically backed nutritional advice. Unlike fleeting diet trends and quick-fix solutions, I providea personalised approach that focuses on addressing the root causes of health issuesrather than merely alleviating symptoms. By delving into the underlying imbalances, I help women achieve sustainable and long-lasting results.

To comprehensively assess hormone imbalances at every stage of reproduction, from pre-menopause to post-menopause, I employ advanced tools such as DUTCH Complete and DUTCH Cycle mapping. For those seeking a deeper understanding and a more personalized approach, I offer an in-depth exploration of hormonal health
through the combination of the DUTCH test, gut microbiome analysis, and Nutrigenomics. This comprehensive approach targets the underlying causes of hormonal imbalances at their root, providing effective and tailored solutions.

My expertise is backed by extensive studies in female hormone science and advanced certifications, including intensive Dutch hormone training with expert Dr. Carrie Jones. I have also been mentored by a DUTCH test laboratory consultant, further deepening my understanding and knowledge of this diagnostic tool.

In addition to working directly with clients, I collaborate with fellow practitioners, providing guidance in interpreting DUTCH test results for their patients.
If you are struggling with symptoms of hormonal imbalance PMS, acne, weight gain, PCOS or navigating perimenopause and menopause, I am here to provide effective solutions and
guide you towards regaining your overall wellbeing.
